YouTube a video streaming platform owned by Google has recently announced the launch of its short video service in Nigeria.
YouTube Shorts was first announced in September 2020 and since then been rolled out to over 100 countries. The YouTube Shorts beta version of the service will be arriving in Nigeria and would be available to users from July 14.
What Is YouTube Shorts
Shorts is a service run by YouTube that gives the platform users a way to connect with new audience by uploading short status like video clips on youtube for viewers just like TikTok and Instagram Reels.
Users only need a smartphone and the Shorts camera to use YouTube Shorts. YouTube users in Nigeria can now access Shorts’ creation tools in order to give their favourite videos a creative look.
Features of YouTube Shorts
Short users have access to a multi-segment camera to string multiple video clips together and the ability to record with music, control speed settings and more.
Furthermore, the platform has to offer some selective number of users access to sample audio, not only from other Shorts but from other contents across the platform. Meaning that users can switch between content they love to watch on YouTube, giving them unique creative touches and helping them find new audiences.
Other Added Features
Some exclusive new features has been made available to the new Beta launch and Shirts expansion such as text addition to specific duration points in the video, users can now record up to 60 seconds with the Shorts camera, also the access to include beautiful clips from the device gallery to recordings made with the Shorts camera and a filter options to add screen colours, effects and vibrancy as well as caption to the Shorts videos.
Shorts is integrated into the YouTube platform making it easy for users to fully access songs and music videos from its music service by listening to snippets on a Shorts video which improves the experience.
