It was reported few months ago in a publish post that the third most movie streaming intends to venture into the gaming world as it’s next step to expanding its service.
The company has hired Mike Verdu a former Electronic Arts and Facebook executive as vice president of game development, and as such is expected to report to Greg Peters who is the Chief Operating officer of Netflix.
Meanwhile during his time at Facebook, Mr. Verdu worked with the social giants developers to present games and other unique content to the Oculus VR headset.
Netflix Gaming Feature
However It’s uncertain how the company plans to offer its gaming service or if its intends to create original gaming content. It is assumed that Netflix could be setting up a cloud gaming interface much similar to Microsoft, Google, and Amazon, or perhaps work with developers on original gaming titles similar to Apple Arcade.
All development process are in the very early phase and the company intention for gaming will become more clearer in the near future.
