Many apps began to include features like group video calls or expanded on them by allowing more participants during the pandemic’s peak last year.
This is because people were using online meetings to meet up with colleagues for work or to virtual gather friends and family members.
Telegram appears to be a little late to the party, as the app’s group video call feature is only now available.
“Today’s update allows you to turn on your camera or share your screen during Voice Chats in groups – on all devices, including tablets and desktops”.According To Telegram
This takes voice chats to a whole new level, making them suitable for online classes, business meetings, and family get-togethers.”
We’re not sure what took Telegram so long to enable the feature, especially since the company first announced their plans in April 2020, but better late than never, right? Plus, with Telegram being viewed as a WhatsApp alternative, we’re confident that Telegram users will appreciate the addition of the feature regardless.
Telegram’s group video call functionality is now limited to 30 people, which is adequate for everyday use, but the company plans to expand it in the future, so keep an eye out if you want to use Telegram to conduct large video calls.
