WhatsApp is working on some new and exclusive features for its app, one of such feature that has surfaced in the latest beta update is a newly dedicated badge that can be used for taging people during group chats and more.
In line with report, WhatsApp will add a new mention badge feature alongside the pin message option. The new feature has been spotted in the latest beta update.
According to Wabetainfo, WhatsApp has released the 126.96.36.199 beta update and a new tagging badge has been added for group chats. “After several updates that addressed bug fixes and general improvements, WhatsApp has released the 188.8.131.52 beta update.
On this new beta, there’s nothing new, but rather, we will be showing you a preview of the feature they’re working on in this build and how it’s works.
The feature is very simple to explain: when you receive a mention in a group, a new badge will be added in the group cell,” the report read.
The feature will be useful during group chats. If rolled out, the mention badge can be used to mention group participants in a group. The WhatsApp features tracker reports that the feature is under development and it will be rolled out in a future update. Hence, only some of the beta testers can access this feature.
Apart from this, WhatsApp has also rolled out a new sticker pack called Taters n tots for Android users.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp in the past few months has released a lot of amazing features which we are aware of, one of the latest feature that WhatsApp rolled out not too long is the face and fingerprint unlock while linking the device. Now in order to link WhatsApp Web or Desktop to the WhatsApp account, users will have to use their face or fingerprint unlock on their phones, before scanning a QR code from the smartphone to link their device.
According to a statement by WhatsApp, this this will prohibit illegal logins to your WhatsApp account on the web. Therefore, once the new feature is rolled out, your friend or colleague will not be able to link devices to your WhatsApp account without your notice and approval. Whenever someone tries to log in without permission on the web version of the messaging app, a notice will pop up on your phone and you can unlink devices from your device at any point in time without physically present before your desktop or PC.
