For now on wards all your future downloads will be stored on your microSD card. Thus every other thing you’ve already downloaded before now will remain on your device internal storage. If you want to transfer them into your SD card, you’ll have to re-download it.




As a form of reminder, Netflix downloaded content s do not last forever. Hence the number of times you get to download a movie, and how long you can keep it, thus depends solely on the license for each piece of content. Some downloads expire within 48 hours of you starting to watch them; others that have less than seven days left will show the expiry date on the Downloads screen.



Furthermore, Netflix content cannot be shared out even after downloading any piece of content from the app neither can it be shared by moving  your Netflix content from your device internal storage  to your SD memory card.

In addition,  if a movie or TV show eventually leaves the Netflix library your download will disappear at the same time.





How To Locate Netflix Downloaded Content On SD Card


After downloading Netflix movies and TV shows to your SD card, you may be wondering, where does the content get stored at in your SD card?



Note that all netflix content are highly encrypted and thus hidden by default in your device or phone. nevertheless, you can thus gain access them using a file manager app. We recommend Files by Google.

How To Find Netflix Download Location On Storage


1. Open Files and click on SD card,  click on the hamburger then  select Show hidden files. (You’ll need to find the equivalent setting if you’re using a different file manager.)

2. Now, navigate your way to  Android > data > com.netflix.mediaclient > files > Download > .of


There you’ll  see some folders with 8-digit random numbers as the name. Open one of those to find a downloaded movie.


All Netflix downloads are highly encrypted  like earlier mentioned and is in the NFV format. You can’t save your Netflix downloads to the Gallery app, or watch them in any other player.


If you’ve already downloaded movies to your phone’s internal storage and would like to move them to your SD card instead you can try moving them manually using your file manager. Via the Same method above through cut and paste from your internal storage to your SD card Storage.


However, you will have to move them back before you watch them, and you can’t open the Netflix app in the meantime because it will no longer be recognize in the downloads.
