WhatsApp Disappearing Message Feature

WhatsApp is introducing a new disappearing messages option this month. This unique feature will allow WhatsApp users to enable disappearing messages on chat conversations between friends, to automatically delete messages after seven days. Thus, Anyone can enable this option in individual chats, and groups in addition, admins will be able to enable disappearing messages in group chats.

Inline with a statement made by one of WhatsApp spoke person " We’re starting with 7 days because we think it offers peace of mind that conversations aren’t permanent, while remaining practical so you don’t forget what you were chatting about,” says a WhatsApp spokesperson. “The shopping list or store address you received a few days ago will be there while you need it, and then disappear after you don’t.

Photos and videos also to be deleted by WhatsApp disappearing message Feature

According to WhatsApp Inc Disappearing messages will also wipe out photos and videos after seven days, and while messages will disappear for both parties, it’s will still be possible to take screenshots or just simply copy messages before they’re automatically deleted.

Furthermore, users will need to enable disappearing messages on a group chat or contact chat to be able to use this feature. Once this feature rolls out fully, it will be available as a new option in the contact section of each of your friends chat conversation in WhatsApp. 

Thus, the setting will not wipe out older messages, and only affects newer messages sent since the activation of the service which Al's can be enabled by either party. 

Inline with what WhatsApp said, it will start rolling out disappearing messages to all users this month.
